Something different for the jam this week. I’ve been experimenting with the Shuffling Looper on my Line 6 HX Effects – it’s really interesting effect that will record a loop and then slice it up into sections, manipulating some of them (pitch shifting, reversing, modulating….) so that a very simple loop of a power chord E becomes an intriguing glitchy rhythmic beat.
It’s the perfect way to explore the sound of a mode or scale (with essentially an E drone underneath). In this case I went for the E mixolydian mode.
